Justice Promised

God Promised to be with Us

Lesson Text: Ezekiel 34:23-31

#SundaySchool #COGIC #GodPromised

This lesson reminds us of the value of righteous and selfless leadership. The prophet Ezekiel is God’s spoke person for Judah during the exile period. So, Ezekiel aided the leadership with an understanding of the WHY of their captivity.

Thought to Remember: Consider becoming a service multiplier rather than acting selfishly.

Lessons learned: To become a righteous leader, one must consider the interests of others before feeding oneself. Therefore, a righteous leader will emulate the Good Shepherd model by becoming a multiplier of service. As a result, I recognize that I must demonstrate a genuine concern for the well-being of others to achieve such a goal. Instead of simply holding power over others, I must ensure that others prosper by serving them and becoming a channel of blessings for them.

My Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You that Jesus, our Good Shepherd, has come. We thank You that He is holding out His hands for all people to believe in Him and follow Him. Enable us to become a service multiplier for your Kingdom. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Justice Promised

God Promised a Righteous Branch

Lesson Text: Jeremiah 23:1-6; 33:14-18

#SundaySchool #COGIC #GodPromised

This lesson reminds us of God’s woes and promises as prophesized by Jeremiah. Seeing God exercise patience in the Scriptures reminds believers of His mercy, which should urge us to serve God wholeheartedly.

Thought to Remember: God promised a Righteous Branch who would rule over all earth.

Lessons learned: In the same way that Israel lost its way, believers can also lose their way if they stop allowing God to lead them. Those who follow Godly principles will govern their actions, facilitate productivity, and increase their fruitfulness. Such individuals will become idyllic leaders instead of ideal leaders. The ideal leaders are perfect or exemplify perfection, but an idyllic refers to a work of prose like the rhythm of poetry or pleasing in its natural scene. Therefore, an idyllic leader flows with the presence of God. Therefore, I must decide whether to embrace the idyllic leadership model or the selfish model leading toward darkness.

My Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, we praise You for leading us toward your presence! Help us to reflect on You in our leadership. Enable us to become that idyllic leader who reflects on your will instead of ourselves. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

God Promised a Righteous Lord

Lesson Text: Isaiah 9:2-7

#SundaySchool #COGIC #GodPromised

This lesson reminds us of hope. Although we live in an advanced civilization, we still have a strong desire for peace and a fear of war. Despite this, as recorded in Isaiah 9, the Scriptures provide us with hope.

Thought to Remember: God sent Jesus to bring us peace.

Lessons learned: The Messiah’s reign will encompass not only the spiritual aspect of a kingdom but also the social and political ramifications of His rule. This reality requires me to grasp the fact that the same must influence my political and social actions at present. To put it another way, do my social life and political alignment support God's Kingdom in such a way that He approves of them?

My Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, we praise You! We thank You for being our Light in a dark and sinful world. Thank You for sending us, Jesus, Your One and Only Son. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Justice Promised

Praise for God’s Justice

Lesson Text: Psalms 146:1-10

#SundaySchool #COGIC #PraiseForGod’sJustice

This lesson reminds us that God is the sovereign ruler of His creation. As a sovereign God, He is Omnipotence, Omnipresence, Omniscience, and His Holiness is demanding. It is for these reasons that God deserves the praise of His creation.

Thought to Remember: When others fail us, God is always there to help.

Lessons learned: God reverses society's pecking order by blessing those who society deems insignificant. Thus, the psalmist praises God for His righteous judgment and affirms his trust in Him. Since I too dwell in the presence of an all-knowing, ever-present, all-power God, I too must learn the value of unconditional praise by saying Hallelujah which is translated as Praise ye the Lord regardless of my situation.

My Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, we praise You! We thank You that You care for us when we are down. In fact, You care for all people. So, help us to demonstrate Your love to others. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
