Treasure in Clay Jars

Life is a fitting room for your heavenly home.

In his second epistle to Corinth believers, Paul reminds them that afflictions never crush you. Why?

One must grasp the fact that experience is the greatest teacher of all. Due to Paul's experiences, he became convinced that all life's lessons come from God, the true creator. In other words, Paul concluded that his suffering furthered his ministry and led to God's glory. So, Paul penned that in the midst of life’s turmoil, believers should not sink into hopelessness. God always allows a common pattern in the development of human affairs. As a result, believers must experience problems so that the divine life of Jesus can manifest. God, in His grace, allows hard times into His children's lives to transform them and reveal His power. Through suffering, believers are often brought to the end of their strength and resources, which compels them to rely fully on God. This dependence on divine strength highlights God's power to sustain and deliver them through their hard times. For example, the Apostle Paul was shipwrecked and imprisoned multiple times. However, his faith remained strong, and he persevered through his suffering.

Ultimately, God will never receive glory if we understand how to resolve our afflictions. So, remember that the hardship you experience now is the best preparation to increase God’s kingdom instead of your kingdom. So, allow God to finish His work in your life.

II Corinthians 4:8-10 NKJV

We  are  hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we  are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.

Beyond the Otherside

I present the same Biblical truth on this website from a different perspective. Although God’s word remains unchanged, our experiences can provide new viewpoints. Therefore, I intend to develop a series of eBooks to share my reflections with you. I have held two careers: 33 years in the Army Reserves, reaching the rank of Colonel, and 43 years in higher education as an administrator. Due to my various leadership roles, I possess a broad range of experience working with Soldiers and students of all ages. I have observed numerous incidents that I have valued over the years. Now, I am applying those experiences to Kingdom work at the OLM School of Ministry as an instructor and administrator.
