Safe in God’s Love

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose. {Romans 8:28 KJV}

This verse is arguably the most referenced verse in the New Testament during a crisis; simultaneously, it is also the most misquoted verse among believers. I say misquoted because victims make this verse about themselves instead of God. We must remember that Romans 8:28 centers around faith in God’s purpose instead of an individual’s purpose. In other words, this verse emphasizes conforming to God's purpose rather than forcing God’s purpose to conform to your immediate circumstances. Many people interpret this verse as a promise of earthly happiness, financial prosperity, or the alleviation of suffering, aligning with their personal desires. This perspective highlights the hope individuals have for positive outcomes in their lives. Yet, the reality of Romans 8:28 is that it is a blueprint for character development designed for an eternal lifestyle, not immediate comfort shaped by worldly expectations.

I present the same Biblical truth on this website from a different perspective. Although God’s word remains unchanged, our experiences can provide new viewpoints. Therefore, I intend to develop a series of eBooks to share my reflections with you. I have held two careers: 33 years in the Army Reserves, reaching the rank of Colonel, and 43 years in higher education as an administrator. Due to my various leadership roles, I possess a broad range of experience working with Soldiers and students of all ages. I have observed numerous incidents that I have valued over the years. Now, I am applying those experiences to Kingdom work at the OLM School of Ministry as an instructor and administrator.
