Thought to Remember:

Leadership without accountability invites Divine judgment, whereas righteousness ensures God’s guidance.

Lessons learned:

The old saying that history repeats itself has validity. For instance, in Micah's time (700 B.C.), he warned the Israelite leaders and prophets that misusing their authority would lead people astray from God. Likewise, the Apostle Paul (64 A.D.) penned a letter to young Timothy about similar warnings of false teachers, as these individuals tended to twist Scripture to say what people desired instead of what was true.

Now, fast-forward to 2025. We recognize some of the same dangers in our world, such as fake news, fake prophesies, and fake prosperity plans, all because some individuals are bored with God’s Word and add their flavor to fit their needs, while others interpret Scriptures for selfish profit. Either way, some spiritual leaders exploit the vulnerable for the sole purpose of personal gain. Both the Apostle Paul in the New Testament and the Prophet Micah in the Old Testament urged the believers to align their actions and behavior with God’s standards and refrain from behavior that oppresses fellow believers.

Today, let us heed these warnings by keeping our eyes and ears open for fakeness, clinging to Scriptures as our foundation, and aiding our brothers when we observe imposters leading them astray.

The Apostle Paul explained it as follows:

For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. (2 Timothy 4:3 NLT)

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, we pray for all leaders. We pray that they will do what You have called them to do. Protect us from those leaders who want to exploit us. Give us the courage and wisdom to challenge unjust leadership. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.

They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. 2 Tim 4:3
